Cancellation Policy

Essential information regarding airline ticket cancellations, fare restrictions, no-show penalties, and schedule changes.

1. Cancellation Overview

Every airline ticket is governed by the contract of carriage and specific fare rules of the operating or validating carrier. Because FlyEasyFlights (www.flyeasyflights.com) provides independent route and carrier information, cancellation conditions and fees are determined by the airline or travel provider through which your ticket was issued.

2. Airline-Specific Conditions & Fare Restrictions

Before cancelling a flight, always review the fare family listed on your e-ticket confirmation:

  • Basic / Light Fares: Usually cannot be voluntarily cancelled for a cash refund or travel credit once any statutory cooling-off window has expired.
  • Standard / Classic Fares: Often allow itinerary changes or cancellations prior to departure subject to a fixed cancellation/change fee plus any applicable fare difference.
  • Flexible / Comfort / Business Flex Fares: Designed for travelers whose plans may change, permitting cancellations before departure with minimal or no penalty according to the fare terms.

3. Cancellation Fees & Multi-Segment Rules

When an itinerary combines multiple fare classes or multiple partner airlines, the most restrictive fare rule in the combination typically applies to the entire ticket. If a ticket has already been partially flown (for example, the outbound leg is complete and you wish to cancel the return leg), the airline will recalculate the used portion as a one-way fare before determining any residual value.

4. No-Show Scenarios & Sequential Coupon Use

Important Timing Rule: If you need to cancel or change a flight, you must do so before the scheduled departure of the flight (and before check-in closes).

Failing to board a flight without cancelling in advance is classified by airlines as a “No-Show.” On most carriers:

  • A no-show results in the automatic cancellation of all subsequent connecting or return segments on the same ticket;
  • Even flexible fares may charge a substantial no-show penalty or forfeit refundability if cancelled after departure time.

5. Airline-Initiated Schedule Changes

Airlines occasionally adjust flight numbers, departure times, or aircraft types months or weeks ahead of departure. Minor timing shifts (often defined as less than 60–120 minutes depending on the carrier) generally do not qualify for free cancellation, whereas major schedule changes or route cancellations typically entitle the traveler to a free rebooking or full refund under the carrier's involuntary change policy.

6. Third-Party Booking Rules & How to Request Cancellation

To cancel an active flight reservation:

  1. Locate your 6-character Airline Confirmation Code (PNR) and 13-digit e-ticket number on your booking receipt.
  2. If booked directly with the airline, log into the airline's official website or mobile app and navigate to “Manage Booking” prior to flight departure.
  3. If booked through a third-party travel agency, contact that agency's customer support team prior to departure to ensure the seat is released in the global distribution system.
  4. Retain written confirmation of your cancellation timestamp for your records.
